Q: Who can join the NLFA?
A: Anybody with a passion and link with non league fooball can become a member of the Non League Football Association. Whether you are a player, a manager, a coach, a physio, a club director, a steward or hold any other role within a non-league football club, the NLFA is your association. Giving you a voice in the national arena and offering you advice and support for your own personal needs.
Q. What does joining the NLFA mean?
A. As a full member of the NLFA you will also become a full member of the GMB - the UK's third largest trade union - giving you peace of mind of a trusted, proven and effective body at looking after it's members. As well as the full range of support, services and discounts enjoyed by all GMB members, as a member of the NLFA you will also benefit from support and advice from the leading experts in the non-league game, tips and techniques training notes, exclusive member deals from our growing base of partner companies, access to members days including world-leading experts and unique networking opportunities.
Q. Does the NLFA offer legal advice?
A. Membership of the NLFA includes legal support for your career through the experienced team at the GMB backed by leading national firm Thompson's solicitors. This includes:
  • Assistance negotiating with your club
  • Advice on employment contracts
  • Representation at a disciplinary hearing
  • Claims for recover of wages
  • Claims for damages for breach of contract
  • Claims for unfair dismissal
  • Free initial consultation on any other legal matter affecting you or your family
Q. What about training and education?
A. Through our partnerships and Government backed schemes the NLFA provide access to a wide range of certified courses, qualifications and training, covering not only football-relevant qualifications such as coaching badges, groundsmanship and first-aid but also education pathways for careers outside and beyond the footballing world.
Q. OK, how much does full membership of the NLFA cost?
A. Membership is available to all whatever your circumstances. The top level is just £2.60 per week (£11.27 per month via DD)
Grade 1 membership is available to all whether you are a full-time player playing in non-league or a part-time player with a supporting job elsewhere. What's more your membership covers you not only in your footballing career wherever that may take you, but will also cover you in your career outside too, guaranteeing peace of mind and value for yourself and your family. For those working part-time (ie 20 hours of less) in total and for members under the age of 18, Grade 2 membership offers a reduced rate (with all the same benefits) for us £1.45 per week (£6.29 per month).If you just want to be listed in our Player's Directory that is just £25 per year, but unfortunately you do not get any of the other benefits of being an NLFA member.To sign up to full membership
